Common questions

Can I switch plans later?

Yes. You can upgrade from Starter to Pro at any time from your billing settings. Changes take effect immediately and are prorated to the current billing period.

What counts as a trainer seat?

A trainer seat is a login for someone who delivers training, not admin staff who manage records. Starter includes one trainer seat; Pro includes three. Additional seats are £25 a month each on both plans, or £250 a year each on yearly billing.

Is there a setup fee?

No. Sign up, import your existing records via CSV if you have them, and you are ready to go. There is no onboarding fee on Starter or Pro.

Do client managers count toward my seat limit?

No. Client managers, the contacts at your client companies who log in to view their team's records, are free and unlimited on all plans.

What happens when my trial ends?

Your plan starts and the card you gave at signup is charged. On a yearly plan that is the full year's price. If you cancel from billing settings any time before the trial ends, you will not be charged.

Is there a discount for paying yearly?

Yes. Pay yearly and you get 12 months for the price of 10. Starter is £490 a year instead of £588, Pro is £990 instead of £1,188, and extra trainer seats are £250 a year instead of £300. Choose Yearly when you sign up, and your 14-day free trial still applies. Already on a monthly plan? You can switch to yearly from your billing settings. Promo codes can only be used with monthly billing.

Is CertSlate Live included in the price?

Yes. Live quizzes, polls, word clouds, Q&A and QR sign-in are included on every plan at no extra cost, and rooms hold up to 100 attendees as standard.

How do online payments work?

On Pro you connect your own Stripe account. Clients can then pay invoices by card inside their portal, and the public can pay when they book a session. The money goes straight to your Stripe account. Stripe's standard processing fees apply, plus a CertSlate administration fee of £1 per transaction on both invoice payments and public session bookings. You can choose to pass that fee on to the customer as a separate line. Online payments are currently in beta.

Can I add a website?

Yes. The website add-on gives you a complete website for your training company, connected to your courses, bookings and enquiries, on your own domain or a certslate.com address. It is included free in every Pro plan as a special offer on this new feature, and if you sign up while the offer is on it stays included in your plan. We plan to charge from £29 a month for it once the offer ends. It is not in the checkout yet, so ask us and we will help with the full set up. If you only want your courses on a website you already have, the course catalogue and embeds are already part of Pro.

Can I use CertSlate for a business in the US?

Yes. We can set your account up to work in US dollars, with US addresses (state and ZIP), month-first dates, 12-hour times, and Stripe and Xero for US businesses. Get in touch and we will configure it when we set you up. CertSlate's own subscription is billed in GBP (£49 or £99 a month), but you invoice your own customers in US dollars.

Can I cancel at any time?

Yes. There are no minimum terms. Cancel from billing settings and your access continues until the end of the current billing period.
